Livingjudaism and Maccabee Martial joined forces to give Juneau Alaska’s small but vibrant Jewish community a jam-packed week of activities that they won’t soon forget. The team blended Jewish teachings and kung fu to run a one-week day camp for 20 children, focused primarly on the theme of honoring parents. After camp hours, a range of community-wide programs were offered, including a marriage workshop, a one man show on the civil rights, and a 3 part clinic in comando krav maga.

Ten elite Israeli students took Seattle by storm this summer, as Livingjudaism hosted it’s first ever Partners in Potential program. The students, seniors at Yitzchk Rager High School in Seattle’s sister cityof Ber Sheva, are all graduates of the prestigious Michael program, designed to help them discover their innate capabilities and maximize their potential. While in town, the group met with entrepreneurs at Microsoft, Google, Costco, Boeing, Mavaron and Amazon. They also had a chance to connect with and inspire their American peers during a special overnight visit to Camp Solomon Schechter. And of course, we made sure that they had plenty of opportunities to experience all that Seattle has to offer! Many thanks to all of our partners who helped to make this happen. Planning for ver2 is already underway for 2011.
